About WATCH High School

Mission Statement

We prepare adolescents to make healthy choices, lead healthy lives and advocate for the total health of their families, their communities, their nation and, ultimately, their world. We expose students to the variety of career options that multiple industries offer. We create a socially supportive learning environment and an academically rigorous curriculum that prepares students for higher education.

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

WATCH High School was founded in 2004 to be dedicated to the promotion of "Total Health": practices that develop their intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and environmental health, thereby leading to academic success and positive youth development. Through our many partnerships, WATCH introduces students to an array of health careers, practices, and principles, and to the variety of career options available in each field. We offer a socially supportive learning environment and an academically rigorous curriculum that can lead to an advanced regents diploma. It is our mission to ensure students access to higher education, and to prepare them for post-secondary opportunities. It is our hope that as a result of their high school experience, our graduates will become activists for a better world; to make healthy choices, lead healthy lives, and advocate for the total health of their families, their community, their nation, and beyond.

A Proud Future Ready School

World Academy for Total Community Health (WATCH) High School is a proud participant in FutureReady NYC which provides New York City public school students' access to career exploration in health care.  This program gives students access to early college credits and industry valued credentials, while also providing opportunities for career-connected coursework and work experience, and support in building personalized college and career plans.

WATCH High School is a CTE school which offers students a pathway towards becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant, one of the most important roles on a health care team. Under the supervision of Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, a CNA provides direct care to patients.  CNA is one of the fastest routes to becoming a professional member of a healthcare team - without having attended college.  This program provides students with a career path right out of high school.

WATCH High School also offers students an opportunity to take a rigorous course work in technology. As a school, we are dedicated to helping students acquire the necessary skills to be 21st Century ready. Knowing how to code and how to use technology effectively can open up opportunities in various industries such as web development, software engineering, IT, and systems administration.
