Principal

Saby Malary began her educational career in the New York City Public School System as a General Science teacher at Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, NY. Ms. Malary spent 15 years teaching within New York City as a Living Environment and Earth Science teacher at both Boys and Girls High School, and The Heritage School before accepting her first Administrative Position in Queens at Cambria Heights Academy. Over the next fourteen years, Ms. Malary served as a founding Assistant Principal at Cambria Heights Academy. In 2021, Ms. Malary accepted a position as Principal of World Academy For Total Community Health. This year marks her third year as principal of WATCH High School and twenty-five years of experience working with New York City students.  
 
Her educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement and well-being. Her educational philosophy is based on her uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgeable leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and a supportive family, all of which WATCH High School possesses.  She is passionate about empowering students to reach their full potential.  With a wealth of experience in education and leadership, Ms. Malary continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and the community as a whole.  
 
Ms. Malary received a bachelor's degree in biology from Long Island University in 1996.  She earned her master's degree in science education in 2001 from Columbia University Teacher College.  After several years of teaching, she pursued her Counseling Degree from Brooklyn College and continued to her Administrative Certification from Baruch CUNY, which she obtained in 2010.

Assistant Principal

Kara Crompton was raised on Long Island and attended school in the South Huntington district. She later earned her Masters in Social Studies Education from Stony Brook University. Before starting at WATCH in January 2023, she worked at a school in Queens for ten years as a Social Studies teacher and team leader. During this time she earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Hunter College. Ms. Crompton loves education because of the endless potential and joy that radiates from students!
